Tigley Textiles Heart Hangers Workshop

Join us at The Priory Hotel to take part in a wonderful one day workshop with Julie Brand of Tigley Textiles making heart hangers, mini stitched pictures to adorn your home of gift to loved ones. 

 

Be inspired by the views of Herefordshire Countryside out of every window and enjoy a drink on arrival, a light lunch and afternoon tea and cake for the reduced rate of £10, payable on the day.


Suitable for all levels , no experience necessary.


DESCRIPTION

There’s something about these mini stitched pictures. Small but perfectly formed and delightfully charming by anyone’s standard.

On this days workshop you will make 1 or 2 small hangers. You can choose from a selection of designs- the bird table, the vase of flowers, a quirky house, and so it goes on- or make up your own design. There will be an enticing selection of fabrics to choose from (someone else’s stash is always so much more exciting than yours).

 

Julie will demonstrate how to apply your fabrics in different ways, and some time saving techniques for eye catching results. You will use some hand embroidery to finish off your piece, and a quirky phrase or meaningful words if you really wish to personalise your creation.

All materials will be provided with one  wire heart hanger- more will be available to purchase on the day. Julie will bring many examples of designs and show you different ways to back and hang your work.

This is a hand stitching workshop, nothing nicer than sitting, stitching, chatting and eating cake- Oh, there will be some of that too, for sure. This workshop is suitable for stitchers of any level- beginners and more advanced, all welcome. Hopefully when you get home you’ll be inspired to keep making these charming and delightfully cheerful happy hangers.

 STARTER

Roasted butternut squash & sweet potato soup with chive crème fraiche & freshly baked bread (v)

Smokes salmon terrine layered with a citrus & dill cream cheese, served with beetroot & horseradish cream & toasted bread

Duck live parfait served with homemade plum chutney, toasted brioche & freshly dressed salad

Goats cheese, fig & parma ham bruschetta drizzled with a sticky balsamic reduction & freshly dressed salad

 

CLEANSER

 Apple Sorbet 

 

MAIN

Roasted crown of locally reared turkey, wrapped in smoked streaky bacon, stuffing, pigs in blankets, goose fat roasted potatoes, bread and Cranberry sauces and gravy.

 

Pan seared Duck breast served pink, with sautéed spinach & dauphinoise potatoes finished with a port & redcurrant jus.

 

Grilled fillet of Seabass with garlic crushed Jersey Royal potatoes, a coriander, caper & lime sauce with roasted root vegetables

 

Wild mushroom & port brioche, served roasted root vegetables (V)

 

All dishes served with a selection of fresh seasonal vegetables

 

DESSERT

Traditional Christmas pudding, served with brandy sauce

Champagne jelly with syllabub cream & walnut shortbread

At The Priory Hotel we delight guests with our traditional afternoon tea served at your table on a mix of quintessential fine bone china.

 What better place to enjoy this fine tradition than in the rectory dining hall with an elevated view of the garden and fields beyond.  Soak up the atmosphere with the crackling log fire and festive music whilst savouring our carefully prepared pastries, dainty sandwiches and the finest leaf tea.
