Surrounded by Nature
The Priory Hotel is the perfect base for browsing around the Herefordshire countryside. In an area of quiet country roads and leafy lanes, wild flowers, birds, animals and river life are in abundance. It is also cider country – with so many apple orchards, springtime is blossom time and autumn sees the orchards red with ripe fruit. There are various Pick Your Own fruit farms dotted around. The house is also very close to the Wye Valley walk and the River Wye.
Hereford
The historic cathedral city of Hereford has pleasant shopping, old houses and museums. Touring round you’ll pass through various pretty villages, including the “black and white” villages famous for their timber-framed architecture, Leominster, Ledbury, Kington and Hay-on-Wye (the latter also famous for its prolific second-hand-bookshops). You can walk in the Wye Valley, visit various National Trust houses and gardens, and tour the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons.
You are within easy reach of Hereford Racecourse, and only a minute or two from two golf courses, a riding centre, an Outdoor Activity Centre and a Mountain Boarding Centre.
